LIZ Maher, so well-known on the racing circuit, made a return to Ballinrobe last Monday after a 40-year break and won the best dressed competition.

From Bagenalstown, Co Carlow, Liz won a luxurious getaway to The Lodge at Ashford Castle and a €1,000 cash prize. Four finalists also received a dinner for two at Wilde’s Restaurant at The Lodge.

Liz’s winning look was a lime green Julie Caulfield coat paired with a Cathriona King headpiece.

Her shoes had been bought over two decades ago in Quills, Killarney. A chic handbag from Kildare Village and rose-tinted sunglasses completed the outfit.
