A TOTAL of 176 golfers took part in the 20th annual Conor O’Dwyer Charity Pro-Am Golf Classic at Kilkea Castle recently. The popular event raises funds for the Children’s Health Foundation.

This year also marked the 20th anniversary of Conor’s Gold Cup win on War Of Attriton and that horse’s trainer Mouse Morris was among those taking part.

The event was supported by local sponsors and organisers, including T.P. Waters, Simply Work’s Mick Kelly, Ann Shortt of Kilcullen Physiotherapy and Sports Injuries Clinic and Paul Shortt of Crookstown Tyres. Elva Wyatt of the Children’s Health Foundation was also among the important guests representing the charity.

It’s hard to keep Godolphin out of the winner’s enclosure for long and their golfers stepped up to the mark at the Sean M. Collins Memorial Golf Day held on August 11th at Carton House.

Runners-up were the team from main sponsors EMS Copiers, and in third and fourth were NFP Insurance and Ardmore Equine Nutrition.
