A HOME overlooking the fields where the great Arkle once roamed has come on the market in Maynooth, Co Kildare. Arkle Lodge was originally part of world renowned Derrinstown Stud and it was the home of one of Arkle’s grooms, the late Johnny Kelly.

Owned by the late Anne Grosvenor, Duchess of Westminster, Arkle was one of Ireland’s most celebrated National Hunt horses and winner of the Cheltenham Gold Cup no less than three times in the 1960s. He enjoyed his retirement in the fields adjoining at Derrinstown Stud.
