THERE was baby news galore at the Horse Sport Ireland stallion inspections last week. Grace Maxwell Murphy and William McMahon’s three-day-old son Archie, Blake and Henry’s new brother, paid a visit to Cavan, where his parents stallion Edenagor Star was approved.

Another new arrival in the west is Seamus and Aisling Sloyan’s daughter Ríona, born in late January, and sister to Seamus Jnr and Saoirse.

Seamus had another Class 1 Irish Draught stallion at Cavan after the home-bred King Elvis I’s success last year. This year it was another stallion by the late PJ O’Reilly’s King Elvis: the well-named Clogheen Life Of Reilly, bred by Danny Molloy. He was produced for Cavan by Padraic Corcoran at his Riverview Equestrian Centre.
