BRÍD Duffy has a long association with the Dublin Horse Show. Her late husband Paul Snr designed some of the fences still on display in the main arena, while her son Paul Jnr has designed courses at the world famous show.

It had been around 20 years since she made the trip to Ballsbridge but she wouldn’t have missed Friday’s Aga Khan when her grandson, Michael, lined out for Ireland.

Sitting in the hospitality area of the Grandstand, Mrs Duffy was spotted with her head in her hands after Michael jumped clear in the second round with the lovely grey mare Cinca, while the pair are spotted embracing after the class.

A proud granny and a worthwhile journey from Claregalway!
