IN common with Seainin Mahon, owner/rider of the 2022 Dublin racehorse to riding horse winner General Principle, Co Meath’s Rebecca McIntyre gave up working full-time with racehorses to become a post woman and these days keeps herself fit jumping in and out of her van on her route around Dunshaughlin and Ratoath.

Rebecca, who rode briefly in bumpers and point-to-points, used to work for local trainer Dermot McLoughlin and now has two graduates of his yard to compete. She partnered both in the Treo Eile performance hunter class at Killossery Riding Club’s spring show last Sunday, winning on Imperial Ruler (who has a bumper and a hurdle victory to his credit) and placing fourth on Chubi Chekker.
