INTERNATIONAL show jumper Billy Twomey, based at Springfield Farm, Southwell, England is the latest rider to join the GAIN Equine Nutrition family.

Growing up in Co Cork, Twomey developed a flare for show jumping, winning multiple pony titles before successfully moving into horses.

Twomey has had notable successes throughout his career, from representing Ireland at the London 2012 Olympics, competing on 36 Irish Nations Cup teams, recording back to back wins at Liverpool International Horse Show and also winning many of the world’s top Grands Prix naming just a few.

A poignant success came earlier this year, when Twomey won the Bolesworth International Grand Prix with the 15-year-old stallion, Chat Botte Ed, owned in partnership with the late Sue Davis.

Twomey, who boasts a strong line of horses, including Chat Botte Ed, Ace of Hearts Z, Diego Del Caribe and Chef of Flanders Field Z, commented on the new partnership: “I am thrilled to be joining the GAIN Equine Nutrition team as an ambassador and to be part of ‘Team GAIN’, along with many other talented riders. Working with the team at GAIN Equine Nutrition for the past few months has given me great insight into the quality of the feed that GAIN has to offer and there is an option for every horse in the yard, including the tricky ones.

“It is really important to me that my horses have the best possible diet to compete at the top level. Knowing that I have the nutritional support from the team at GAIN when I need it, gives me great confidence and is very reassuring. The horses love the feed and are thriving. Their coats are coming up shiny and the feed pots are always empty.”

Twomey joins an exemplary list of successful ‘Team GAIN’ riders across multiple disciplines, which include Cian O’Connor, Will Whitaker, Denis Lynch, Anthony Condon, Oliver Townend, Gemma Stevens and Guy Williams.
