IN a bid to encourage anyone interested in becoming an SJI Official, Showjumping Ireland is running three National Information/Training Days. These are being run both for current SJI Officials (Course Designers, Judges, Stewards and Safety Officers) and for those with an interest in joining the official ranks.

The first of these training dates will take place at Ballypatrick Stables, Co Tipperary on Monday, May 15th.

The SJI Health & Safety Committee is delighted that the now retired champion Irish National Hunt jockey Davy Russell will join to talk about his experiences with concussion. International course designer Klaus-Wilhelm Holle will give a presentation and course walk.

The day starts off with individual presentations for the specific categories and then breaks into groups for practicals in the afternoon. All groups attend the Health & Safety presentation and then there is a Q&A session to end the day.

As SJI Officials must attend a Seminar every two years to remain compliant, these days will count against these.

Entries are now open on SJI LIVE under the heading ‘Seminars’.

The remaining dates are Castle Irvine, Necarne (May 29th) and Karlswood (June 12th).
