THE Kildare Hunt Pony Club pure dressage team, ‘The Dazzling Kildare Dancers’, were the winners at last week’s Pony Club Festival held in Barnadown, Co Wexford. Not only that though - two of the team members were siblings with another a first cousin and the fourth a good friend. The three cousins, Jamie and Lucy Maughan and Kate Moore are all grandchildren of much-loved Kildare Hunt Pony Club area manager Bridie Maughan, whose daughter Kathleen Moore, Kate’s mother, was a pony club instructor and whose son Fergus, father of Jamie and Lucy, is on the Dressage Committee. At Barnadown, Kate rode The Blue Diamond, whom she is currently preparing to travel to the upcoming Home International as part of a team of 12 young Dressage Ireland representatives.
Lucy Maughan rode Valley View Sammy, Jamie Maughan rode Miss Uptown Girl and the fourth team member, Laura Butler, rode Lenovo.
