TEN members of the Kildare Hunt Branch of the Irish Pony Club, most with racing connections, paraded with the silk boards of runners in the Comer Group International Irish St Leger at The Curragh last Sunday.
The one-mile, six-furlong Group 1 race was won by the 4/11 favourite Scandinavia whose trainer, Aidan O’Brien, was a member of the Wexford Hunt Branch in his pony days. Ryan Moore, who rode the four-year-old Justify gelding, was once a member of the Southdown Hunt East Branch of The Pony Club in England.
