PROFESSOR Tim Lynch, Consultant Neurologist and Clinical Director at the Dublin Neurological Institute has been in touch with an innovative idea for a fundraiser and The Irish Fieldis always keen to support a cause close to the heart of former IHRB chief medical officer Dr Adrian McGoldrick.

It’s a Croke Park business breakfast next Thursday, May 5th, coffee poured at 6.45am and all done and dusted by 9am.

Jockey sensations Rachael Blackmore and Ruby Walsh will be interviewed by Marty Morrissey - should be cuting edge. All funds go to the Mater Neurology/Dublin Neurological Institute (a charity to support teaching, training, research in neurology as well as patient care, including head injury and concussion).

Early start

As Professor Lynch says: “Although an early start, it works, as we all get off to work afterwards and it does not interfere with the day’s work.”

Head over if you can – should be a revelatory morning.

Courses support family carers

SARAH Houlihan, the Carer Support Manager for Family Carers Ireland in Kildare and Wicklow has news of an online fundraiser raffle. Family Carers Ireland is the national charity supporting over half a million family carers around the country caring for children or adults with physical or intellectual disabilities, frail older people, those with palliative care needs or those living with chronic illnesses, mental ill-health or addiction.

Fundraising allows them to keep providing vital support for these family carers. The raffle prizes are very generously donated by Naas Racecourse, the Curragh Racecourse, the Irish National Stud and Gardens, Lullymore Heritage and Discovery Park, Russborough House and Kildare Farm Foods Open Farm and Shop. The closing date for the raffle is Friday, May 13th. And there are some smashing days out to be won.
