LOOKS like all racecourses have gone woke with their best dressed awards.

Last month we had Punchestown keeping the fashion stakes very gender neutral and now the Curragh has launched its ‘summer style awards’ with no suggestion that it’s just a lovely girls competition. Surely the men should get a 5lb allowance because most of them haven’t a clue how to dress themselves.

Anyway, the prize on offer at the Curragh this Sunday is pretty impressive. The winner will receive a chauffeur-driven trip to stay at the Cashel Palace Hotel.

The former Palladian manor with gardens overlooked by the Rock of Cashel has, of course, been completely renovated and is the sole Irish hotel on the Conde Nast Travellers Hot List for 2023.

The winner of the Curragh’s best dressed will be taken to the Cashel Palace in a top-of-the-range chauffeur-driven Volvo, courtesy of Finlay Motors, and treated to dinner for two in the Bishop’s Buttery restaurant at the hotel.

Breakfast in one of the Garden Wing Superior Rooms is included, along with a €200 voucher. The lucky winner will also be receiving a magnum of champagne courtesy of Moët & Chandon.

The winner will be announced at 2.30pm by “well known influencer” Jodie Woods.
