CONGRATULATIONS to Hazel Galloway, the former Ballydoyle Racing staff member, who was honoured at the recent Tipperary Athletics Star Awards.

Hazel spent 21 years at Ballydoyle before her retirement last year. She memorably led up Warm Heart to win last year’s Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot, after which Ryan Moore recalled how Hazel had also looked after Beethoven, Moore’s first Group 1 winner for Coolmore in the 2009 Dewhurst Stakes.

Hazel has plenty of speed herself and has been winning medals with Clonmel and Fethard Athletic Clubs for years, and she has also represented Ireland on the Irish Masters Athletes Team, again winning medals at European level.
