ADAM’S auctioneers, in conjunction with Suzanne MacDougald, are hosting an online auction of art to aid the Irish Red Cross in delivering vital services to millions of people impacted by the conflict in Ukraine.

These artworks have been donated by a generous cohort of art collectors and artists and they will be offered through the adams.ie website. The catalogue went live online last Thursday and will close for bidding on Thursday, April 7th at 2pm. There are no reserves, no buyer’s premium and bidding will open for each lot at 50% of the low estimate.

There is a predominance of works by many of Ireland’s best loved artists and the sale also features international artists including a beautiful bronze duck by Irish-Ukrainian artist Vadim Tuzov. This charity sale aims to raise over €50,000 for his homeland and his Ukrainian brothers and sisters.

Vadim has a considerable following for his realistic animals and shows regularly at Dublin’s Solomon Gallery.

John Behan’s large and haunting Liffey Oar Boat (2021) is a bronze with a white chalky patina and Rowan Gillespie’s Kneeling Girl, is a nude study in bronze. Another beautiful bronze is by Orla de Brí and is entitled Cross Bearer.

Peter Curling has donated an oil entitled Loose Schooling, painted in 2021 and superbly captures the energy and vitality of the animal.

With over 35 lots there’s something to appeal to every taste and budget including some Louise Kennedy couture, a lady’s black beaded crepe evening jacket.
