A total of 1,023 entries, including 302 from Ireland, have been received for the 11 handicaps at the Cheltenham Festival.
The £90,000 Grade 3 Ultima Business Solutions Handicap Chase on the opening day (Tuesday, March 10th) has 89 entries including the current ante-post favourite for this year's Grand National Shutthefrontdoor.
Champion Day also features the Listed Cheltenham Club Novices' Handicap Chase (5.15pm), which has attracted 65 entries including Generous Ransom, who won a similar race at Cheltenham on January 24th.
A huge entry of 156 (up 20 on 2014) for the £80,000 Grade 3 Coral Cup on the Wednesday features Bayan, Pine Creek and Activial, who fought out the finish to the Ladbroke Hurdle at Ascot in December, plus Grade 1 scorers Lac Fontana and Abbyssial.
Five French entries have been made for the £50,000 Glenfarclas Cross Country Handicap Steeple Chase (28 entries in total) on the same day, including multiple cross-country scorer Toutancarmont.
A total of 70 contenders for the £75,000 Grade 3 Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle on the second day are headed by Golden Doyen, successful over the same course and distance in the Grade 2 JCB Triumph Hurdle Trial at Cheltenham in November.
A trio of handicaps on day three kicks off with the £80,000 Listed Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle in which Grand National hero Pineau De Re was third last year.
Caid Du Berlais and Johns Spirit, who were separated by a head in the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham in November, could re-oppose in the £90,000 Grade 3 Brown Advisory & Merriebelle Stable Plate (86 entries), while dual Cheltenham winner Monbeg Dude may bid for more glory in the £60,000 Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Handicap Chase (91 entries).
The handicap action on Gold Cup day gets underway with the £80,000 Grade 3 Vincent O'Brien County Hurdle, which has 121 entries including Fighting Fifth Hurdle victor Irving, the 2014 JCB Triumph Hurdle scorer Tiger Roll, plus previous winners Lac Fontana and Ted Veale.
David Pipe is responsible for 11 of the 190 entries (up 22 from 2014) in the race run in honour of his father - the £50,000 Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle, while Nicky Henderson could be represented by Anquetta, French Opera and Tanks For That in the contest named after his late father, the £90,000 Johnny Henderson Grand Annual Handicap Chase, which has 62 entries.
Weights for all 11 handicaps will be revealed on Wednesday, February 25th. Also on that day entries for the Weatherbys Champion Bumper and St James's Place Wealth Management Foxhunter Chase will be published.
