KILFRUSH Stud in Knocklong, Co Limerick, will be auctioned next month with a guide price of €5.5 million.
A string of Group 1 winners have been bred on the near 300-acre property, including Last Tycoon and Immortal Verse.
Kilfrush was managed for many years by Brendan and Anne Marie Hayes for French-based Richard Strauss. In 2013 Strauss sold Kilfrush to Qatari businessman Mubarak Al Naemi and the stock was purchased separately by Americans John Moores and Charles Noell. David Ryan of Arran Bloodstock managed Kilfrush for the current owner.
The stud is also famed for hosting American President Richard Nixon in 1970.
The property includes a Georgian residence, manager’s house, staff houses, and over 70 boxes. The sale is being handled by Jordan Town and Country Estate Agents.
Paddy Jordan commented: “Kilfrush Stud is one of the finest estates to come on the market for some time, with a classic pedigree having bred over 80 group and stakes winners.”
Kilfrush Stud will be auctioned at 3pm on Wednesday, July 24th in the Dunraven Arms Hotel, Adare, Co Limerick.
