THE equestrian community in Co Wexford was plunged into mourning on Tuesday following the tragic death of 23-year-old Dylan Boggan who lost his life following an accident while working with a horse.

The young man is believed to have been putting a horse on the walker at a yard near Fethard on Sea when the horse kicked out causing a tragic fatal injury.

The Wexford People newspaper reports the incident took place at around 1.30pm and emergency services were immediately called to the scene and paramedics from the National Ambulance Service worked on the young man alongside local doctors. He was transferred to Cork University Hospital by the Coast Guard Rescue 117 helicopter. Sadly, nothing could be done and he was pronounced dead.

From Mayglass, Wexford, Dylan was described as having a huge love for animals and a keen interest in racing and hunting. He was a former member of the Killinick Pony Club, which posted: “Dylan was a member for a number of years, representing the club at national level. He was a kind and caring young man, who will be dearly missed. We express our deepest sympathy to Dylan’s family at this very sad time.”

The Killinick Hunt Club also expressed their sympathies to Dylan’s family. “Heartbreaking news. Dylan was talented young horseman, with many friends in the hunting community,” a post said.

Devastated

Dylan will be lovingly missed by his parents David and Sabrina, siblings Aaron, Jordon and Ava, grandparents Kitty Boggan and Noel Kehoe, his uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.

His funeral Mass took place yesterday (Friday) in David’s Church, Mulrankin, with burial afterwards in Mayglass Cemetery.
