THE Irish Field has gathered the views of some of the country’s top sport horse breeders in response to a public call from respected industry commentator Michael Slavin that an Emergency General Meeting of the Irish Horse Co-operative members should now be held. Mr Slavin outlined his case in our sister paper The Irish Farmers Journal this week. We put a series of questions (below) to a cross-section of breeders this week in a bid to gauge initial reaction and opinions on the issue.

Q. A: Do you think Irish sport horse breeders should have an open public meeting on the whole future direction of Irish sport horse breeding?
