KIERAN Kennedy’s Coolballyshan Stud this week welcomed five-star international show jumper Lansdowne onto their stallion roster at their Co Limerick base.

Formerly campaigned by Conor Swail at five-star level on the international show jumping circuit, Lansdowne (2003, KWPN), is a striking chesnut by Guidam (SF) out of Ivory (KWPN), by Wolfgang (KWPN).

“Lansdowne was world class as a show jumping stallion, I first saw him as a two-year-old colt at Jan Greve’s stud farm in Holland. He was a lovely powerful colt with good balance and an incredible free jump but it’s his international career that makes him so impressive, winning a five-star Grand Prix at the age of eight and jumping into the top 10 horses in the world in 2013, placing eighth in the world rankings. As we all know, both Luidam and Guidam were both underused, both world class stallions, so with the introduction of Lansdowne, this will give Irish breeders access to a top performer and top genetics,” said Kieran Kennedy.
