DARRAGH Kenny has moved up to seventh place in the Longines world rankings, released this week. The Offaly native moved up one place after further top results in the month of February, which included a four-star World Cup qualifier win in Deeridge, Florida, USA.

There are four other Irish in the world’s top 50. Denis Lynch has slipped five places to 29th, while Shane Sweetnam has moved up to 31st. Daniel Coyle is next best in 36th place, just ahead of Bertram Allen in 37th. There are a total of 11 Irish riders in the top 100.

Switzerland’s Steve Guerdat remains at number one for the second month in-a-row, ahead of compatriot Martin Fuchs, who momentarily took the title from Guerdat in the new year. Germany’s Daniel Deusser is ranked number three.

In the Under 25 show jumping rankings, Allen holds on to second place behind Belgium’s Jos Verlooy, while Mikey Pender occupies fourth place (as well as ranking 78th in the leading rankings).

Cathal Daniels is the sole Irish event rider in the world’s top 50. He remains in 11th place as Britain’s Oliver Townend continues to occupy the number one spot.

In dressage, Judy Reynolds and Vancouver K are having a quiet spell on the international front, which sees their ranking slip to 18th place. The combination plan to get back out for the outdoor season to continued their preparation for the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Calculated on horse and rider combination, Germany’s Isabell Werth holds the top two ranks with Bella Rose 2 and Weihegold OLD, respectively.
