Court case confirmed

GLANBIA’S High Court case against the company which it says supplied it with a batch of contaminated molasses in 2020 is to be heard in Ireland.

The contamination led to a spate of racing disqualifications in France in late 2020 and the common link was Gain Equine Nutrition. The contaminated batch of feed also led Aidan O’Brien and others to withdraw runners from the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe meeting that year. Glanbia are being sued by Coolmore for damages and the feed company is in turn suing supplier ED&F Man Liquid Products Ireland for €9 million.

The supplier applied to the High Court to have the case sent to arbitration or be heard in the English courts but this was rejected by the High Court this week.
