Hall of Fame for Tom Wachman
CONGRATULATIONS to 17-year-old Tipperary show jumper Tom Wachman who earned the United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) Show Jumping Hall of Fame Rider of the Month Award for March following a great run of form at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Florida, USA, where he consistently topped the leaderboard in the High Junior Jumper division during WEF nine, 10, and 11.
He finished with a hat-trick in $10,000 Show Jumping Hall of Fame High Junior Jumper Classics, winning the Hall of Fame Classic during WEF nine aboard HH Fireball and then scored consecutive wins at WEF 10 and 11 aboard Mangoon, who earned March’s Show Jumping Hall of Fame Horse of the Month Award.
The Hall of Fame is located at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY, where plaques honouring those who have been honoured with induction into the Hall of Fame can be seen at the Horse Park’s Rolex Stadium.
Irish National Hound Show
THE Irish National Hound will be held at Stradbally on Sunday, July 3rd at Stradbally, Co Laois. Judging will start at 10.15am. There are rings for Foxhounds, Harriers and Beagles each run by the respective hound associations.
Judges for the Foxhound Ring are: Doghounds: Andrew Osborne (Chairman the MFHA and former Joint Master & Huntsman the Cottesmore) & Nicko Batten MFH (Joint Master & Huntsman, the United); Bitches: James Andrews MFH (Joint Master & Huntsman, the South & West Wiltshire) & Gareth Watchman MFH (Joint Master & Huntsman the Zetland)
It is hoped to run the annual Young Handler Competition for juniors from packs of Foxhounds, Harriers & Beagles.
