THE ‘Flavours of Fingal Horse Show’ is back on July 2nd-3rd after a two-year Covid-induced break. It will be held again on the beautiful Newbridge Estate near Donabate, North County Dublin hosted by Fingal County Council.

An established fixture in the show calendar, the popular 2019 renewal attracted over 90,000 spectators and 800 horses across the show jumping and showing classes. Supported by Fingal Farmers Group, artisan foods and lots of competitions, there’s also free family entertainment and music.

The overall sponsor this year is Tesco Ireland. There are six show jumping classes which will be held on the lawn on front of Newbridge House.

An attractive fund of €5,000 for the inaugural Grand Prix, sponsored by Joe Duffy Motors BMW, and a combined fund of €15,000 is on offer for both the show jumping which includes the Leinster Summer Tour and 14 showing classes.

The courses will be designed by international course builder Tom Holden, assisted by David Byrne.

An added feature this year will be two Dublin Horse Show qualifiers, one for the Ladies Side Saddle and the other for the Racehorse to Riding Horse Classes. There will also be a parade of trade and private horse drawn carriages and trotters.

Fairyhouse horse trainer Dermot McLoughlin kindly agreed to parade his Irish Grand National winner Lord Lariat, and the Fingal Harriers will parade their hounds.

There is car parking on site and a shuttle bus service will be available taking in hubs around the surrounding area.

Entries for the show jumping classes should be made through the SJI before 4pm on Thursday, June 30th and for the showing classes, entries are through itsplainsailing.com org/fh
