THE hunting community was well-represented in Malahide on Tuesday at the funeral of Maureen Haughey who died on St Patrick’s Day.

While Mick McGrath was unable to attend, the other three joint-Masters of the Fingal Harriers – Brian Beggan, Helena Dawson and Pat White – stood as a guard of honour at the door of St Sylvester’s Parish Church at the start of Maureen’s requiem Mass. This was celebrated by Brother Bryan Shortall, who used the odd cupla focal in honour of a true Irish woman.
