Decrypt is set for a hike in class as trainer Paddy Twomey plans a crack at the Tattersalls Irish 2000 Guineas.

The Dark Angel colt has won two of his three starts to date, in a Curragh maiden on his second juvenile outing last June before making a victorious reappearance at Cork last month.

He was a cosy three-length winner that day, and Twomey is eager to test his mettle at the highest level at the Curragh on Saturday week.

He said: “He’s very much on target for the Irish 2000 Guineas. I was happy with him at Cork – he did what I hoped he would do, and I’m looking forward to running him next Saturday. I don’t think the ground will really matter to him. He’s won on good to firm and good ground, so I’d not be worried about that.”

Decrypt is a 14/1 chance for the Irish 2000 Guineas, with Newmarket victor Magna Grecia the general 8/13 favourite.
