MULTIPLE Group 1 winner Cracksman, whose progeny include Ace Impact, has been bought by leading National Hunt owner Dai Walters and Yorton Stud in a deal brokered by Richard Venn.

The top-class son of Frankel will become a dual-purpose sire, having previously stood at Darley’s Dalham Hall Stud, where he commanded £12,500 in 2025. With his first foals now five-year-olds, Cracksman’s progeny includes 11 stakes winners and a further 10 blacktype-placed horses.

Liari, a dual listed winner over hurdles, and Galway Hurdle victor Ndaawi are among Cracksman’s first runners over hurdles.

Yorton Stud’s Dave Futter commented: “We are very grateful to Cracksman’s owner/breeder, Anthony Oppenheimer, and to Sam Bullard of Darley for enabling us to stand such an exciting stallion.”

The future is bright for Cracksman, as Futter explained: “His yearlings of 2025 have sold to learned judges for up to £150,000 at an average of £53,000, and there are 81 foals in his latest crop. He is a stallion who has achieved plenty, but promises plenty more.”

A fee for Cracksman is yet to be announced.
