STUART Boman of Blandford Bloodstock has succeeded Michael Kinane as the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s contracted bloodstock agent for the Northern Hemisphere. Boman will assist with the selection and supervision of preparation of horses for the Hong Kong International Sale.
The announcement comes weeks after Boman’s £16,000 yearling purchase Docklands landed the Queen Anne Stakes, but he is perhaps best known for his horses-in-training purchases.
They are headlined by 150,000gns buy Zaaki, who went on to win four Group 1s and earn Aus$5.7 million for Annabel Neasham.
In their statement revealing the news, the Hong Kong Jockey Club said: “The HKJC extends its gratitude to Mr Michael Kinane for his six years of service as the contracted agent in the Northern Hemisphere for the HKIS.
“Mr Kinane’s expertise saw the retired champion jockey identify, select and purchase Hong Kong global champion Romantic Warrior, winner of 10 Group 1s across four different jurisdictions and holder of the world record with prize money of HK$214.7 million. Romantic Warrior, who was sold at the 2021 HKIS, is the sale’s most decorated graduate.”
