Tannola should be difficult to beat now having shown plenty of promise when narrowly denied on her debut at the Galway Festival. The Dermot Weld-trained filly did nothing wrong on that occasion, looking somewhat unfortunate to bump into a potentially smart sort. With the benefit of that initial experience, the daughter of Awtaad can go one better.

National Lady was her stable’s second string when a promising third on her recent debut at Leopardstown. The form of that race has already been boosted by the runner-up, so it would be no surprise to see Ger Lyons’ filly take a step forward.

Emerald Banner shaped well enough on her recent debut at this track to suggest she can get involved. The Jessica Harrington-trained filly did plenty right in the initial stages but was just worried out of it before running green late on. Likely to come on from that outing, the daughter of Starspangledbanner should be a different proposition now.

Sweetest let supporters down when failing to justify short odds on her recent debut at Cork but is almost certainly better than that. Aidan O’Brien has struck with a number of newcomers this year but traditionally the stable juveniles improve from their initial outing.

Smart Impression is afforded another chance despite having run slightly below par at Dundalk last time. Having made a very pleasing debut at this track in May, the Elzaam filly then ran respectably when upped to Group 3 class for her second run. Although unable to take advantage of an easier opportunity on the all weather recently, the Michael McCullagh-trained filly may not have acted on the surface.

McTenett looked as though he would be all the better for a recent introduction at Sligo. On that occasion, the Joseph O’Brien-trained colt ran green early before keeping on strongly once the penny dropped inside the last furlong.

Ocean Jewel can follow up her recent Leopardstown win over a furlong longer to gain her first win at this distance. The application of a first-time hood seemed to help the Willie McCreery-trained filly, as she travelled well just off the pace before quickening away inside the last furlong.

On the form of her previous run, where she finished third here in May, the daughter of Sioux Nation holds strong claims.

Lady Tilbury won twice over the minimum trip this season but takes time to get going in her races so should be ideally suited to this stiffer track. A smart juvenile last term, the David Marnane-trained filly remains open to improvement.

Teddy Boy followed up his recent win over course and distance with a solid fourth placing in a stronger race at the Curragh last weekend. Although slightly higher in the weights now once taking his jockeys claim into account, the Eddie Lynam-trained eight-year-old looks almost certain to give his running. Assuming that a high draw proves to be an advantage, he will go very close.

Jazzy Dancer showed plenty of speed when a close up third behind Teddy Boy here on his latest start. Colin Keane is a significant booking on the Red Jazz gelding, who has been apprentice ridden of late.

Arch Enemy can get back to winning ways having enjoyed little luck in running when third at Leopardstown during the week.

On that occasion, the Patrick Magee-trained filly had to wait for room before eventually running on when all too late.

A consistent performer who was just denied at Galway on her penultimate start, the four-year-old should appreciate the extra distance here.

Out On Friday has been done no favours with an outside draw in stall 19 but Sean Bowen has built up a great partnership with the son of Masterofthehorse.

If Bowen can get away smartly and hold a prominent early berth then the duo could prove difficult to pass.

Take Heart can gain some measure of compensation having looked a very unlucky loser at the Curragh recently in a 10-furlong handicap.

The Johnny Murtagh-trained gelding had to switch a couple of times inside the final furlong and only went down by a narrow margin. An unexposed three-year-old having just his fourth career start, the son of Dark Angel has leading claims.

Migdam, a three-time winner for Sir Michael Stoute, is of interest on debut for new connections. Ado McGuinness does exceptionally well with purchases at the sales, so the Zelzal gelding, who cost 60,000gns at the Tattersalls July Sale, could be one to keep on side.

SELECTION: TAKE HEART
