The Eventing Ireland season in the Northern Region got underway last Saturday at Tyrella (1), where the first dressage test was ridden at 8am and the last pony came through the finish at 6.51pm following nearly eight hours of cross-country action.

It was a cold, windy day at the Corbett family’s seaside venue, where plenty of horses and ponies displayed their well-being when first mounted or lunged. The damp early morning weather didn’t encourage people, other than close connections, to watch the action in the 10 dressage arenas (three long) nor in the two show jumping rings where, this season, Aaron McCusker is building for the region.
