JUST three of the 31-strong startlist in the 1.30m six-year-old final managed a double-clear round to divide first place on Friday afternoon in Mullingar.

Eight combinations progressed to the second round timed decider. First to go was Wesley Ryan with Michael James Pender’s Belgian-bred Serena VD Berghoeve. The pair left all the jumps they did intact but missed out on fence six which caused a technical elimination for the duo and left them in eighth place.

The three combinations who answered all course builders questions correctly to occupy the top three places were Miriam Queally’s Kilnamac Maud (OBOS Quality x Lux Z), ridden by Orla Queally who posted a time of 49.45 to take the win.

Second was Bravo Hughes Ltd’s HHS Rose (Lamm De Fetan x Don Juan De La Bouverie) with Mikey Pender in the saddle; they stopped the clock at 50.49.

Third was Killavallig Farm Ltd’s Belgian-bred stallion Quality Time Van Het Heieinde (Elvis Ter Putte x Kashmir Van Schuttershof) and Vincent Byrne in 51.71.

DSH Lucky Junior (BBS McGregor x Luidam) and Tholm Keane had one fence down in 48.16 for fourth place.

Andrew Hodgins and Shanaclough Luichew (Luidam x Coolcornan Wood) were fifth while Castlebridge Logan (Tolan R - Thunder Van De Zuuthoeve) and Sean Kavanagh were sixth.

In the five-year-old division, just nine of the 46 starters produce a double-clear round to divide first place in the 1.10m class.

The next and fifth round of the Studbook show jumping series takes place at Ard Chuain Equestrian Centre on June 23rd and 24th.
