TRIPLE Group 1 runner-up Mojo Star is heading to Kilkenny to begin his breeding career at Whytemount Stud. The five-year-old Amo Racing-owned son of Sea The Stars was second in the 2021 Epsom Derby, splitting Adayar and Hurricane Lane.

Trained by Richard Hannon, he finished second to Hurricane Lane in the St Leger and filled the same position behind Kyprios in the Ascot Gold Cup, finishing a place ahead of Stradivarius.

Bred by Barbara Prendergast, Mojo Star is the third son of Sea The Stars on the Whytemount Stud team, and is following in the hoofprints of Affinisea and Behesht.

Ronnie O’Neill said: “We’ve never had a horse with his racing record before. A great big horse, he has a lot of presence and I think he will be a great addition to National Hunt breeding in Ireland. Amo Racing approached me to take him and they will be supporting him with mares. He is a very exciting prospect and has settled in well here.”
