NICOLE Kershaw captured the first international win at CSI2* Millstreet International Horse Show for Britain when she rode Lisa Rosbotham’s mare Novellent (Valent x Zeoliet), bred by Linzi Johnston, to the top spot in the 71-rider strong 1.20m jump-off class on Thursday.

Some 24 combinations produced a double clear round, with Kershaw the quickest of these in the only sub-30 time of 29.99 for the victory. Eoghan Fahy, riding his own mare HHS Caprese (Capri van Overis Z x Cavalier Royale), bred by Miguel Bravo, slotted into the runner-up position in 30.72.

Daisy McNamara and Martha McNamara’s Belgian-bred gelding Caspetito Z took third in 32.07, while fourth went to Conrad Sweeney and the German-bred gelding Easy 103 in 32.23.

Taylor Sweeney and the Dutch-bred gelding Domino Van de Valhoeve were fifth, while Ciara Fives rode Norita Fives’ Mermus R Russel (Mermus R x Russel), bred by Adrian Shoer, to finish sixth.

British double

Kershaw’s second win came on Friday when she rode the Mary McCann-bred and Keonan Stables-owned Clovalent (Valent x Cruising) to the top spot in the 1.30m speed class.

Juinarite (Douglas x Arezzo VDL), ridden and owned by Shane Goggins, was awarded second place when they stopped the clock at 60.69. Third went to Francis Derwin Jnr and the Belgian-bred Parvati AEG, just slightly slower in 60.89.

Aimee Barry, riding Garryndruig Limoncello (Amaretto Darco x Cruising), bred by Geri McGeoghegan Santry and owned by Joe Barry, slotted into fourth.

Jamie Clarke and Coumroe Special took fifth, while Daniel McAlinden and Luisa Horta Osorio’s Belgian-bred Ballerina Girl GVO Z finished in sixth.
