NOT too surprisingly, Irish riders outnumbered all others in this 49-runner class but there was a cosmopolitan look to the final leaderboard.

Britain’s Flora Harris, who has been a regular visitor to Millstreet since 2017, completed on her winning dressage score with the Belgian Warmblood gelding Rochefort van de Vossenhoek (28 penalties) who she started off at BE90 level in April. Owned by Richard and Cindy Onslow, the six-year-old is by Diamant de Semilly out of the Mr Blue mare Mimosa de la Vie Z.

From an Irish standpoint, it was great to see Co Down’s Ella Boyle also complete on her first phase score to place second with her Irish Sport Horse gelding Mountview Storyteller (29.4) who has only once finished outside the top six since his Eventing Ireland debut at the end of March The seven-year-old chesnut by Tullibards Bennys Legacy, who was previously owned by Katie Crozier, was bred in Co Laois by Thomas Hutchinson out of the Charante mare Clonincurragh Artemis.

Moving up from fifth to finish third on her dressage score was Co Kilkenny-based British international Nicky Roncoroni with the six-year-old Imperial Hights gelding Rockalong (30.4), the reigning EI90 National Champion. Longstanding Belgian team member Karin Donckers, who first competed in Ireland in 2011, finished fourth on her eight-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding Pinokkio (30.8).
