SWEDEN’s Robin Carey produced impressive results in Sunday morning’s 1.30m speed class at Millstreet, taking first and third place.

He rode his brother Adam’s seven-year-old mare Luicruz (Luidam x Puissance) into the winner’s spot after a double clear round and a second round time of 41.92 seconds. The pair have gained plenty of experience this summer travelling to Italy, Holland and Belgium over the past five months to take in shows at Arezzo, Kronenberg, Geesteren, Bonheiden, Lier, and Valkenswaard.

The Kilkenny-based rider then partnered Perle D’Amour (Kannan x Con Capitol) into third place, double clear in 44.52.

Sandwiched between both of Carey’s horses in second place was Jamie Landers and Skelwith Diamond Lady (Kalaska de Semilly x Balou der Rouet). They posted a second-round time of 44.24 for the runner-up spot.

Olive Clarke and her own eight-year-old gelding FSS Outlaw (Cardento x Orlando Van De Heffinck) slotted into fourth place with the only other double-clear round in 47.90.

Tori Dunne riding Sumas Taloubet (Taloubet VDL x Pride of Shaunlara) finished in fifth as the fastest four-faulter.
