THERE were small fields at many meetings in Britain last weekend with the Essex fixture at High Easter being the worst-supported of three which clashed with the Randox Health Grand National on Saturday.

Five of the seven winners were Irish-bred including the Tommy Morgan-trained Lough Inch who, in the hands of Sam Davies-Thomas, recorded his 15th point-to-point success in the PPORA club members’ race over two and a half miles. The 10-year-old Jimble gelding was bred by Eithne Hamilton out of the Slew O’Gold mare Ballerina Gold.
