TWO Northern-trained horses fought out the finish of the six-furlong handicap at Fairyhouse on Wednesday evening, Lee Smyth’s charge Duncan Of Scotland going down by a head to the Adrian McAllister-trained Bien Chase.

That six-year-old gelding, who was winning for the first time in an 11-race career, ran in the colours of his late trainer, the much-missed Lady Janey Alexander, who purchased the chesnut as an unbroken three-year-old at Tattersalls Ireland’s 2014 August Sale.
