NORTHERN trainers were well-represented at Down Royal’s first meeting under the new management team on Tuesday but the only one to saddle a winner was Stuart Crawford whose Curious Times, landed the Get A Run For Your Money With BetVictor Maiden Hurdle over two miles.

Ridden by J.J. Slevin in the colours of Pat Sloan, the six-year-old Shantou gelding went off a 16/1 shot but, from the final flight, was always holding the challenge of the 5/4 favourite, Black Tears, who he beat by two and three-quarter lengths. Crawford introduced the newcomer Ballylig in the bumper and this seven-year-old Winged Love gelding, bred by Linda Gault out of the Definite Article mare Ciannte, shaped well.
