THE Berry family from Dromore suffered huge disappointment recently when Susie, who had been lying in silver medal position, was forced to the sidelines for the show jumping phase of the FEI European eventing championships for Young Riders in Millstreet. Her mount, Morswood, had not been accepted by the ground jury at the final horse inspection.

Thankfully they had a bit of a lift on Wednesday when the King’s Theatre bay Miss Eyecatcher won the extended two-mile mares’ handicap hurdle at Galway under David Mullins. Trained by Roger McGrath for the Connery Family Syndicate, the six-year-old was bred by Chris Berry and Berry Farms out of the unraced Generous mare Miss Generosity, a half-sister to the multiple winners Battlecry (by Accordion) and Value At Risk (by Kayf Tara).
