LUMIERE created a highly favourable impression when trouncing her rivals by six lengths and further in a Newmarket maiden in July, a race in which the subsequent listed scorer Shadow Hunter was third, and she confirmed her status as a potential classic star of the future by adding the Group 1 Connolly’s Red Mills Cheveley Park Stakes over the same trip on Saturday.

Between those efforts the Mark Johnston-trained grey chased home Besharah in the Group 2 Lowther Stakes at York, and that excellent filly finished third last week with the previously undefeated Illuminate splitting the pair.
