1.35 Irish Stallion Farms Fillies Maiden 6f 60y

Ashwiyaa and Zelestial both showed up well on their debuts and look set to fight this out, with marginal preference for the former. Michael O’Callaghan’s filly did most of her best work late on when finishing a three-quarter length third to Tiger Belle over five furlongs at Cork. She should come forward now and this step up in trip should be fine.

Zelestial was further back on her debut, finishing three and a half lengths off Givemethebeatboys at Navan, but the winner upgraded the form of that race significantly by taking the Marble Hill last weekend.

SELECTION: ASHWIYAA

Sibyl Charm disappointed on her seasonal debut when seventh of 13 at Cork, but improved significantly for better ground when third to Ostraka at the Curragh last weekend. She met a little trouble in running in that contest, so can be marked up and will enjoy tomorrow’s conditions. The daughter of Charm Spirit had earlier just failed to win on her debut when beaten a head by Madly Truly at Naas on her only run as a juvenile.

Ferrari Desert ran nicely first time out at Navan, racing prominently and sticking to her task well to finish third to Parting Glass. She should come forward from that effort and the extra furlong is likely to suit her.

SELECTION: SIBYL CHARM

Both Rathbranchurch and The Snapper have weight swings with Rumbled Again but Denis Hogan’s gelding looks progressive enough to defy a 9lb rise. He looked comfortable when holding off the challenge of the former mentioned last time out at Gowran, seeing out the seven furlongs strongly and he can do that again here, with a good draw to boot.

The Snapper was a place behind him when the pair met in an apprentice at Cork, and is lightly enough raced to improve again, so should go well while better is expected of Portreath who has cheekpieces on for the first time on his handicap debut.

SELECTION: RUMBLED AGAIN

Next best: Portreath

The talented Cerberus may be able to take advantage of a mark of 75. The seven-year-old produced his best performance yet for his new trainer Augustine Leahy when fourth to As Tears Go By over hurdles at Clonmel. He was well held on the flat prior to that, but in very different conditions to what he will face today.

Mick Halford and Tracey Collins are finding form and Zileo could run well from them here. The Galileo gelding produced his best effort for some time when touched off by the well handicapped Magnetic North at Leopardstown. He only got a 2lb rise for that effort so will be a threat if he can improve.

SELECTION: CERBERUS

Next best: Zileo

There are just six in this contest but they all have claims of some sort, the strongest of which may belong to Narmar. Henry de Bromhead’s colt looked all over the winner at Killarney on his previous run only to get mowed down late by Just An Hour, the pair of them pulling well clear.

That was a step forward from his fourth to Quar Shamar at Dundalk and if he can go forward again, he’ll be tough to beat.

Sea Gardens was a little unlucky but ultimately disappointing considering he was a short priced favourite in the maiden won by Mr Lincoln at Gowran Park. He may prove better than that sixth-paced effort but for now Fozzy Stack’s Highland Rahy looks in better shape after a fine effort to finish a close third to the useful Nation’s Call at Gowran.

SELECTION: NARMAR

Next best: Highland Rahy

4.07 James Collins Memorial Handicap (Div I) 1m

Kevin Coleman’s Swiss Army Officer returned to action with a win at Roscommon, prospering by racing off a strong pace and seeing out his race well under the talented Conor Stone Walsh. With that rider booked again, he can make hay from a good draw, and though up 5lbs, he has been rated significantly higher in the past.

Manhattan Dandy has been in good form for Thomas Coyle and is another who could take advantage of a decent draw. The six-year-old has improved on each of his last three starts and boxed on strongly when third of 15 to Blue Peak at Roscommon last time.

SELECTION: SWISS ARMY OFFICER

Next best: Manhattan Dandy

4.37 James Collins Memorial Handicap (Div II) 1m

In an open looking race, it might be worth taking a chance on Breezy Zoff at a potentially big price. Gavin Cromwell’s filly has run reasonably well on her first two starts of the season, in two big-field, straight course handicaps. This might be a little easier for her from a decent draw and she was a good third at this course last season, so has the course know how.

Atbay comes into this off the back of a good second to Blue Peak at Gowran, easily the best of his six runs so far. If he can come forward from that effort, he will have be a significant threat.

SELECTION: BREEZY ZOFF

Next best: Atbay

Taipan sets a good standard but this sets up well for Female Soldier. Tom Mullins’s filly finished just under six lengths off the Jessica Harrington-trained gelding off level weights at Killarney and gets an 11lb weight swing, not including his rival’s claim. She is a smart filly herself, holding a rating of 92, a mark which she finished a very respectable fifth off in the Petingo Handicap on Irish Champions Weekend.

Taipan is sure to go well and is the clear class angle, having run right up to his mark of 101 on his last two starts, and he found only the classy French Claim too good at Navan earlier.

SELECTION: FEMALE SOLDIER
