CONNECTIONS of Liquid Amber believe their filly is heading towards the Qipco 1000 Guineas at Newmarket on Sunday “under the radar”.

The daughter of Kitten’s Joy broke her maiden in startling fashion in the Group 3 Flame of Tara Stakes at the Curragh in August.

Trained by Willie McCreery, she will race in the famous Niarchos family silks in the name of Flaxman Stables, colours carried to victory in the race by Miesque in 1987.

“She only ran twice last year and this will be her first start of 2018 so from that point of view I suppose you could say she’s under the radar,” said Alan Cooper, racing manager for Flaxman Stables.

“She broke her maiden in a Group 3, she’s wintered well and has been pleasing Willie.

“The thought at the moment is to run her on Sunday and hopefully she can give a good account of herself and we can map out a programme from there.

“Willie has a very nice filly in Mary Tudor who is going for the Irish Guineas so he has a pretty good idea where he stands in that division.”

Liquid Amber’s price ranges from 16-1 to 20-1.
