12.19 Cargill Neomilk Calf Milk Replacer Rated Novice Chase 2m 1f 160yds

Jody Ted likes it around here and was impressive when he won over fences at Clonmel earlier this month. He handles slow ground well and based on his fine effort at Clonmel, has the potential to develop into a better horse over fences. Kamus has very little racing done but ran a creditable race behind some smart horses at Fairyhouse and if capable of building on that, he could play a leading role.

SELECTION: JODY TED

David Christie has been in good form with his horses on the track this season and he might be able to take this with Ultimate Optimist. The six-year-old has comes here off the back of wins at Stowlin, Loughanmore and Quakerstown so he’s in great heart, and though this will be more difficult, it’s significant that Barry O’Neill has been booked to ride him.

The same applies to The Blind Piper, who returns to the track off two wide-margin wins at Moig South and Corbeagh House. He didn’t fare too badly when taking on maiden hurdles last season, notably finishing fourth in decent contest at Fairyhouse.

SELECTION: ULTIMATE OPTIMIST

1.29 Lyons Of Limerick Jaguar Land Rover Novice Hurdle (Grade 2) 2m 7f

Jungle Prose, who has won four of her last five starts since joining Gordon Elliott, is a sporting selection to win what is a very competitive contest. The selection has improved 52lbs since she joined Elliott and based on her latest success at Navan, looks a genuine graded performer. While this represents her toughest assignment to date, she is taken to beat her stable companion Favori De Champdou who beat Harry Des Ongrais when they last met at Thurles. There should not be a lot between the pair again today.

Kalanisi Star looked smart when he won his maiden hurdle by a wide margin and he along with the maiden Letsbeclearaboutit should not be overlooked in what looks a terrific contest.

SELECTION: JUNGLE PROSE

Next best: Favori De Champdou

2.04 Goggin Buckley Mares Maiden Hurdle 2m 4f

Kudasheva ran a fine race in defeat on her hurdling debut at Navan and looks capable of going a couple of places better. The first two home at Navan look smart and the selection made most of the running that day. This former winner of a point-to-point can win here en route to better things.

Knockanard Lady looks sure to play a leading role and she was arguably a shade unlucky not to win the last day at Tramore. Shecouldbeanything is living up to her name and she was impressive when she won her bumper here a few weeks ago.

SELECTION: KUDASHEVA

2.39 Grant Thornton Ladies Handicap Hurdle 2m 4f

Optional Mix has developed into a progressive handicap chaser and may be capable of exploiting a lower mark over hurdles. She ran a fine race when second over fences off a mark of 121 at Fairyhouse earlier this month and this progressive mare has won twice over fences this year. She looks sure to be competitive off a mere 109.

Whiskey Lullaby was given a great ride by Jody Townend to win a similar race over fences at Fairyhouse and is a big contender as she too reverts back over hurdles.

SELECTION: OPTIONAL MIX

3.15 Roches Feeds Handicap Hurdle 2m

Derridae sprang a surprise when she ran out a convincing winner at Thurles last week and this former course-and-distance winner is tipped to win again, assuming she will handle what is likely to be very testing ground. She has a fine record around here and is tipped to beat Gendarme who is a previous course-and-distance winner.

The Connector appears to be improving with racing and he appeals as an each-way option from the right end of the handicap, as does the consistent A Mere Bagatelle.

SELECTION: DERRIDAE

Next best: Gendarme

3.49 Whitebox Property Group INH Flat Race 2m

Largy Hill should win. He was sent off favourite for a bumper earlier in the year at Cork and while well beaten, the form of that race has worked out well. The winner has developed into a useful novice hurdler and the third has won a bumper. His experience on likely taxing ground could be crucial in a race in which the majority are debutants. It could be significant that Jamie Codd has opted to travel to Limerick to ride the newcomer Harveys Point.

SELECTION: LARGY HILL
