MADAM,

“Never complain, never explain,” credited to British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli, is the unofficial motto of the Royal family. An apt, if poignant one, to use in the week of a new Prime Minister and loss of an icon.

However, I’m glad that the issue of agricultural show results was raised in David Devane’s letter and to assure exhibitors that the results received from 20 of the 122 ISA-affiliated shows held to date this summer were printed. (An additional set, without breeding details could not be included.)

Results available from All Ireland finals hosted at Bannow & Rathangan, Bridgetown, Clarecastle, Dungarvan, Limerick, Moate and Mountbellew were also printed.

Show reports from contributors are carried from shows that can supply full results, including breeding details.

Why include breeding details? Irish Horse World reports and results are commented on by favourably by readers and breeders, both here and abroad for their level of detail. That’s the standard deserved by all in 2022.

So not to complain, just to explain to exhibitors about the quantity of results printed this year.

Yours etc.
