Capt Michael Kelly and the Irish Sport Horse Ringwood Glen grabbed a third place finish in the three-star Vichy Grand Prix on Sunday, posting one of four double clear rounds in the 1.50m contest. Victory and the €7,500 first prize went to French favourite Timothée Anciaume riding Olympique Libellule.

Capt Kelly also finished third in the Grand Prix Qualifier on Saturday with another Irish Sport Horse Drumiller Lough. Earlier, Tipperary’s Thomas Ryan and Caribo finished second in Friday’s 1.50m jump-off class at the same venue, with Capt Michael Kelly coming home in sixth with Ringwood Glen. Marion Hughes was also in action at the French fixture, the Kilkenny rider finishing third in Sunday’s 1.45m jump-off with Can Ya Makan behind local winner Harold Boisset.
