THE dual champion Beholder, who recently became the first of her sex to win the $1 million TVG Pacific Classic at Del Mar, is one of the current stars of the track to emerge from the pages of the September Yearling Sale. The now five-year-old daughter of Henny Hughes was sold from Clarkland Farm to Spendthrift Farm for $180,000 in 2011 and the following year she triumphed in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies at Santa Anita. In 2013 she added the Breeders’ Cup Distaff at Santa Anita to her roll of honour and other Grade 1 victories include this year’s Clement L Hirsch Stakes.
