ON Saturday at the Irish Breeders’ Classic, hosted at Barnadown, 60 combinations went to post in the five- and six-year-old Irish Breeders’ Classic consolation final, sponsored to the tune of €5,000 by Abbey Upholstery and Keatingstown House Stud. This two-phase special class saw 60 go to post and, of those, 15 maintained clean sheets.
Taking the win was Shane Dalton aboard Gerald Kilbride’s six-year-old Larina Cruise, when they crossed the line in 29.75 seconds. This was the second good result for this pairing, as they won the six-year-old Championship second qualifier on Friday. Larina Cruise was bred by Michael Kenny by Lock Cruise out of the Tabasco Van Erpekom-sired dam Kennystown Cross.
