LOUGHNATOUSA Buachail, ridden by Tadhg Beecher, was victorious in the five- and six-year-old consolation class on Saturday and secured the lion’s share of the €5,000 on offer.

A total of 71 horses went forward for the two-phase 1.10m competition. Of these, 26 posted a double clear round. Beecher was fastest of these in a time of 32.27 aboard the five-year-old gelding by Sligo Candy Boy out of Sammy Jee (Samgemjee) who was bred by Dr Noel Cawley.

Second place went to Bravo Hughes Ltd’s HHS Cyprus, ridden by Alexandre Jose Pereira Travia dos Ramos Faustino. By Cornet Obolensky, the six-year-old is out of HHS Acorado, by Acordo.

Tomas Doyle rode Marti Rudd’s Monbeg Ruby (Diamant de Semilly x Boheardeal Clover) into third, while fourth went to Ennisnag Stud’s HK Carrera (Carera VDL x Zambesi) with Oisin Aylward on board.

Tracy Walshe and Ballinaguilkey Fusion Exchange (Tullabeg Fusion x OBOS Quality 004) were fifth. Carl Webb and another from the Hughes Bravo string, HHS Vilamoura (Quite Capitol II x Beach Ball), completed the top six.
