Victory for Martha Jobling-Purser

BRITISH-based Irish junior rider Martha Jobling-Purser (17) scored 69.64% with the nine-year-old Ampere gelding Ivan Carlos to win the CDIJ FEI team test class in Le Mans, France last weekend at only their second international show as a combination.

The grandniece of Irish Olympian Juliet Jobling-Purser was a four-time international winner for Ireland as a pony rider and the win was her first international victory since moving up to the junior ranks in 2021.

Rawlins fourth in France

IRELAND’S national dressage champion Dane Rawlins and the 13-year-old Westphalian gelding Espoire scored a personal best of 67.58% to place fourth in the four-star Grand Prix in Le Mans, France tolast Friday. French riders completed the podium places with the win going to Charlotte Chalvignac (Elice) on 69.84%, Camille Judet Cheret (Scoop Du Bois Luric) placed second on 69.76% ahead of Morgan Barbançon (Bolero) in third on a 69.00% total.

Eoin McMahon second

CLARE show jumper Eoin McMahon finished runner-up in the two-star Grand Prix in Riesenbeck, Germany last Sunday. He rode his European Championship mount Chacon 2 to a double clear in 38.15 seconds to earn €5,100. He was beaten to first place by Germany’s Richard Vogel with Caramba 92 (0/0 36.95).

McAuley placed in French Grand Prix

CO Louth’s Mark McAuley finished fourth in the two-star Grand Prix at St Tropez, France. He guided the nine-year-old mare Danslevent de Carles to one of 10 double clear rounds in 40.38 seconds. Frenchman Julien Epaillard won aboard Donatello D’Auge.
