Billy Twomey runner-up in

five-star St Tropez Grand Prix

CORK show jumper Billy Twomey finished runner-up in the €200,000 five-star Grand Prix in St Tropez, France last Sunday. Riding the 14-year-old stallion Chat Botte E.D, he was among 10 to make it through to the jump-off, where just four delivered clear rounds. Against the clock, Twomey posted a second clear round in 41.68 seconds to slot into second place and earn €40,000 in prize money. Victory went to Frenchman Julien Gonin and Valou du Lys (0/0 40.45), while Edward Levy was third with Uno de Cerisy (0/0 43.20). Trevor Breen finished in eighth place with Highland President after a fence down in the jump-off.

Two-star Grand Prix for O’Meara

SHANE O’Meara won the two-star Grand Prix in Deurne, The Netherlands last Sunday. Riding the 10-year-old stallion Harvard, owned by Manton Grange Stables, he was the fastest of 10 clears rounds in the jump-off to win €6,375. O’Meara also won two one-star classes at the venue with the nine-year-old mare Iris.

Ivan Dalton won a two-star class on Sunday. Riding the nine-year-old mare Damoiselle du Mesnil, he won the 1.40m two-phase special when best of 10 double clears in 34.62 seconds. Shane O’Meara finished in sixth place with Nindino PS (0/0 40.93).
