CLARE native Eoin McMahon impressed at the Spring 2026 Mediterranean Equestrian Tour last week, scoring consistently during the show, which ran from January 13th to 18th. McMahon claimed a fourth place, two third places and a fifth.
The highlight of the show was the 1.45m Grand Prix on Sunday, in which McMahon rode Disney Z into fifth place. Of the 43 starters, 11 jumped clear in the first round to proceed to the jump-off, where seven combinations completed double clear rounds. McMahon’s time of 41.06 wasn’t far off the pace of Belgian winner Lauranne Spits on Parel van het Russeltveld, who stopped the clock in 38.36.
